Vees give tickets

The Penticton Vees are recognizing the many Ironman volunteers by donating 2,000 tickets for its game Sept. 8. The Vees will host the Wenatchee Wild in their first exhibition game. The donation was made during the volunteer dinner at the Penticton Trade and Convention Centre.

“We are very excited to be able to give back to the volunteers that donate so much of their time for this great event,” said director of ticket sales Will Russell.  “This was my first time experiencing this event and it was very humbling to see the people of Penticton come together to support an event that brings so much to our community.  Providing these ticket vouchers for the Wenatchee game was the least we could do to thank all of the volunteers.”

The ticket vouchers must be exchanged at the SOEC Box Office for an actual ticket to the game. That can be done starting today at 10 a.m. until game time.  Puck drop is 7 p.m.

Bronze Peaches

The Paddling Peaches women’s 55-plus dragon boat team earned a bronze medal in the batch 1 event during the B.C. Senior Games. The Paddling Peaches finished the race in 2:42:21.
