Grenades keep top spot
The Hand Grenades top the Penticton and District Dart Association Standings with 87 points after 15 weeks. On Dec. 19 the Hand Grenades collected five points. The Alley Brats sit in second with 82 points after collecting two points. In a tie for third are Clancy’s Snipers and Elks 1 with 77 points. Clancey’s Snipers scored five points, while the Elks had seven. In fifth are the Smokin Aces with 74 points. They collected six points. High scores went to Doug Belanger with 177 points, while Karen Franz had 160. Belanger also had the high out with 153 points, while Missy Kolbe had 124.
Rona, HLW net wins
Rona topped TC Auto Sales 7-6 in Bad Tattoo Brewery Masters Indoor Soccer action. The win improves Rona to four wins, three losses and one shootout win after eight rounds. TC Auto Sales drops to 3-3-0. Scoring for Rona was Joe Kandola with two goals, while Paul Borba, Wayne Zral, Darryl Pace, Alan Clarke and Ron Dirksen each scored one. Brian Johnston led TC Auto with a hat-trick, with Ernie Kish, Mike Beliveau and Shawn Goodsell each scoring once. Harvey-Lister-Webb took top spot in the league with an 8-5 win over Penticton Lock and Key. HLW is now 4-3-1 as they were led by Jon Padgett’s three-goal performance. Andy Burt added two, while Reid Jenkins, Gord McLaren and Harold McEwen scored a goal. For PLK, which has two wins, Zico Pescada scored three to add to his league leading 16 goals, which ties him with Padget. Phil Barata and Nikos Theodosakis scored once.
Atom Vees thump Vernon
In Penticton Minor Hockey Association action, the Brand Messenger Atom Development 1 team defeated Vernon 9-1 on Dec. 18. On Dec. 11, the team picked up a 2-0 victory over Kelowna. Dexter Materi and Cole Wadsworth scored. Assists went to Wyatt Moore, Will Mohns and Tagg Moog.
