Gabriel a force for Snipers
Sam Gabriel was a force that couldn’t be stopped. The Dynamic Refridgeration Penticton Snipers forward led his team to a 4-3 win over the Penticton Firefighters Local 1399 Vees in Pee Wee house action.

Gabriel a force for Snipers

Sam Gabriel was a force that couldn’t be stopped. The Dynamic Refridgeration Penticton Snipers forward led his team to a 4-3 win over the Penticton Firefighters Local 1399 Vees in Pee Wee house action. Collecting assists on Gabriels goals were Brock Schlenker, Ben Schwabe and Kelaya Allison. Vees goals were scored by Nikhil Mohan with two and Daman Sarwara. Snipers goalies Marcus Tait and Jake McHale were outstanding.  

Soccer Tryouts

The South Okanagan Youth Soccer Association is holding tryouts for under-12 boys and girls development program. While there is no date yet for the girls, the boys will be on Feb. 26 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Adidas Sportsplex. Contact Keri Afonso at kjafonso@gmail.com for more information. Bosscher nets winner for Wolverines

In Penticton men’s rec hockey action, Blair Bosscher scored the game-winning goal with two minutes left to help Peacock’s Perch Wolverines defeat the Hitmen 3-2. Chris Becker and Ryan Sjoberg added the other Wolverine goals. Dave Sandrelli and Kaylin Hickey scored for the Hitmen.

Red Rascals rebound from defeat

Tim Horton’s Red Rascals doubled up the West Kelowna Sharks 8-4 in Novice action. Noah Eisenhut scored twice for the Sharks, while Go McCheane and Alexandra Simpson. Red Rascals goals were scored by Ben Lefranc and Ethan O’Rourke with two and single goals by Carson Drobe, Richter Heintz, Aaron Carley and Gage LeClair.   The Red Rascals then rebounded to defeat the South Okanagan 3-2. O’Rourke collected a hat trick, while Levi Carter and Jasmine Murchison tallied for the South Okanagan.

Vees end season on a split

Penticton Structurlam Pee Wee Vees earned a split in their final two games of the season as they defeated Vernon 3-0 then lost to Kamloops 4-3. In Vernon, the offence came from Alyssa MacMillan and two by Michael MacLean. Shane Farkas stopped 25 shots for the win. Against Kamloops, the Vees scorers were Jayden Doell, Louis Shortreed and Daylin Devlin.

Junior bonspiel

The Penticton Curling Club is hosting a Junior bonspiel on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The event is free to watch with curlers aged eight to 15-years-old competing.
