Swimmers of the month

Four Rupert swimmers were recognized for their work in the month of December by the Prince Rupert Amateur Swim Club (PRASC).

Magnus Veldman was the winner of Class 1/1.5. In his second year with the Rapids, he finished in the top four of all his events at the Terrace swim meet before Christmas.

In the 2/3 class, Lucas Mayer was lauded for hitting big milestones at the Terrace swim meet as well. He won his first two Swim BC “A” times in the 100 and 200 backstrokes.

Natalie DeMille is the swimmer of the month for Class 4/5/6. She finished 2016 with a monster Terrace meet. In her first race of the meet, the 200 back, she achieved her first ever “AAA” time. She also added four more over the weekend in 100 back, 100 free, 200 free and 200 IM. She also finished top three in six of her seven races and notched nine new best times.

In the Masters division, Steve Tattersall received the monthly honour. He is praised for always being a “tremendous advocate for the program.”
