Road hockey

On Sunday, Aug. 6 from 11 a.m. to around 6 p.m., kids ages 5-10 can play in a road hockey tournament at the Terrace sportsplex. Games are a half hour and teams will be 3-on-3, with different age divisions. For more, check out “Terrace Road Hockey Rumble 2017” on Facebook.

Drag racing

Hot August Nites is coming up this weekend. Street legals are Aug. 4 at 6 p.m. and the races are Aug. 6-7 at the airport.

Speedway

Time trials are at 6 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 5, and races start at 7 p.m.

Slo-Pitch

Mixed slo-pitch tournament all weekend, starting at 7 p.m. Friday, Aug. 4, and continuing all day Saturday through Monday, Aug. 5-7. Played at different ball parks including Riverside Park, Rotary Kerr Field and Thornhill Regional Field.

Beach volleyball

The 17th annual Beach Blast volleyball tournament is Aug. 6-7 in the Mr. Mikes parking lot. For more check out “17th Annual Mr Mikes Beach Blast Volleyball Tournament” on Facebook.

Soccer

The Riverboat Days soccer tournament is Aug. 4-7 at the two Thornhill school soccer fields. There’s 5 women’s teams, 8 men’s, 5 masters competing in their divisions and finals are Monday. For more including a schedule check out the Facebook page called at Riverboat Days Open Soccer Tournament.

A drop-in co-ed soccer league for adults runs Mondays and Thursdays at 7 p.m. at the Caledonia Secondary soccer fields. For more information, call 250-635-3790.

Motocross

The annual Riverboat Days Freestyle Motocross Madness is in the Skeena Mall parking lot at 2 p.m. Aug. 5.

Running

The first Terrace Ice Cream Run is Aug. 26, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., with free ice cream for race participants from the Terrace Chill Shop. Proceeds go to the Ronald McDonald House in Vancouver and early-bird registration ends in mid-Aug. For more details, search “Run for Ice-Cream” on Facebook or call Kristine at 250-922-5229.

Biking

Group bike rides every Thursdays at 6:30 p.m. starting at Wild Bike. It’s a soft, social ride, with no racing and open to anyone able to ride at a speed of at least 20 km/hr.

Golf

The Skeena Valley Golf & Country Club in Terrace is hosting its first All Nations Golf Tournament Aug. 18. Also coming up are the Seniors Open Aug. 26-27, and the Mr & Mrs Aug. 26-27.
