Tennis open house set for April 22

The Salmon Arm Tennis Club is hosting an open house on April 22 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The community is invited for free breakfast, demonstrations, family events and quality tennis gear available to try on the club’s courts next to Little Mountain Park.

Team Canada picks Jeffrey

Columbia Shuswap Selkirks swimmer Chantel Jeffrey received a letter from the national open water swimming coach inviting her to join the team at an open water training camp in Fort Myers, Florida on June 3 to 6. Jeffrey was also invited to swim at the UANA OW Championships in the Cayman Islands on June 6 to 13.

Umpires Wanted

Salmon Arm Minor Baseball is looking for returning and new umpires. The group is currently looking to recruit 10 or more umpires.

Shuswap Minor Football

Minor football will offer the Jr. Atom/Atom Spring Flag program this May. The program is for ages six to nine (must be six by the start of the program and not turning 10 in 2017).

It runs May 16-27, Tuesdays and Thursdays 5:30-6:30 p.m. and Saturdays 10:30-11:30 a.m. on the field behind Shuswap Middle School. Online registration for Sring camp and Fall tackle programs is also open, register by April 30 to take advantage of the early-bird rates. Register online at www.shuswapfootball.ca.

Results for April 9: First– Dan Quilty and Gerry Chatelain, tied for second– Linda Rivard and Norma Hobbs and Doreen and Dennis Roberts. The Bridge Club plays every Sunday afternoon at 1 p.m. at the Fifth Avenue Senior Centre and everyone is welcome. For more information call 250-803-5556.
