Teddy bear toss

Silverbacks fans are asked to bring a teddy bear, toque, scarf, gloves, mitts or winter socks in a clear plastic bag to throw onto the ice after the first Silverbacks goal against the Vernon Vipers on Friday, Dec. 8 at the Shaw Centre. Donations benefit the Salvation Army.

Figure skating

Skaters from the Salmon Arm Skating Club competed in the Revelstoke Fun Competition in October and the Kamloops Interclub Competition last weekend, winning a total of 13 gold, 18 silver and 13 bronze medals. The club is hosting their, “A Sweet Christmas” Skating Show on Friday, Dec. 15 at 5:30 p.m. at the Shaw Centre, with 125 local skaters taking the ice. Admission is by donation.

Nordic Society

Larch Hills Nordic Society meeting Tuesday, Dec. 12, 7 p.m. in room one at the Salmon Arm Community Centre. All current and prospective members welcome.

Badminton

Badminton at the Sunnybrae Community Hall runs Mondays from 7 to 9 p.m., and Fridays 1 to 3 p.m. Drop-in games start Nov. 6 and run until the spring. The drop-in fee is $1, or $15 for the whole winter.

Results for the Cedar Heights Duplicate Bridge Club for Wednesday, Nov. 29: First– Orville Cooper and Dan Quilty; second – Jack Ashenbrenner and Vicki Coe; and third – Betty and Fred Bergman.

Cedar Heights Duplicate Bridge is a year-round club that meets every Wednesday. Doors open at 6:30 p.m., play starts at 7. All players are welcome. For information, call Vicki at 250-675-2141.
