Stick curling championships
Brian Maurer and Bert Larmand are competing in the 2018 Canadian Stick Curling Championships in St. Alberta, Alta, from April 2-5. The event consists of two-person stick curling teams from across Canada, and live results can be found at AlbertaStickCurling.ca.
U19 Ringette championships
Jordyn Turner and Courtney Bacon of Salmon Arm will join the Thompson-Okanagan Ringette League’s Team Force at the 2018 Save-On-Foods Canadian Ringette Championships in Winnipeg, MB from April 8-14. This is the 40th anniversary of the national championships, commemorating their first ever event held in 1979 in Winnipeg.
B.C. Hockey events
The Shaw Centre will be hosting the B.C. Hockey U16/18 Female Identification Camp April 12-15, as well as the U16 Male B.C. Cup April 19-22. They will be looking for volunteers and timekeepers to help with both of these events. Contact dknight@salmonarmrecreation.ca for more information.
Waves at nationals
The Salmon Arm Waves Masters swim club will be participating in the Canadian Masters Swimming Championships in Calgary, Alta from May 19-21. The club is seeking additional swimmers for their roster, the public is welcome to come swim, practice and aim for their best time. ‘Backs spring camps
The Salmon Arm Silverbacks host their Salmon Arm spring camp April 27-29 at the Shaw Centre, looking to identify local talent for the BCHL. Come out, skate with the team and see if you have what it takes to be a Silverback. Registration information is available at sasilverbacks.com
