Tennis open house

The Salmon Arm Tennis Club, located at 3440 Okanagan Ave. SE, beside Little Mountain Park, hosts their annual open house Saturday, May 5 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. There will be a free pancake breakfast starting at 9 a.m., with fun tennis events like junior courts, “1-racquet doubles”, mini tournaments and “test your serve” with a radar gun running all day.

Selkirks team invites

Swim BC and Swim Canada have recognized the improvement of the Selkirks swim team. Maggie Manning, 18, will join the Next-Gen Camp in Montreal with other swimmers identified for 2020 Paralympic training. James Lebuke, 16, made the B.C. team for the 2018 TYR Pro Series in Indianapolis and the Canadian Youth Development Team for the Mel Jazac tournament in Vancouver. Ethan Skofteby, 15, will be part of the provincial team competing against other western provincial teams in Saskatoon.

Volunteer dragon boat coach

Do you want to spend an hour once a week during the months of May and June on the beautiful Shuswap Lake? A volunteer Dragon Boat coach is wanted for a mixed 55+ recreation fun paddling team. If interested, contact Sandy Konicek at 250-804-2710.
