Spring rugby action

The Comox Valley Kickers men's and women's rugby teams hit the field Saturday at Cumberland Village Park.

The Comox Valley Kickers men’s and women’s rugby teams hit the field Saturday at Cumberland Village Park.

The women took on the Bayside Sharks RFC, who are based out of White Rock in the province-wide Division 1 women’s league. The final score was 27-17 for Bayside, which is ranked number three. Comox is the fourth-ranked women’s team.

The women’s spring league runs from February to May.

The Kickers men lost 33-19 to Oak Bay on Saturday.

Games are always on Saturdays. Training takes place Monday and Thursday evenings, 6:30 p.m. at Cumberland Village Park.
