The Vancouver Stealth and their newly appointed head coach Jamie Batley have announced the bench staff for the remainder of the 2016 National Lacrosse League season.

Batley, Jim Milligan, Clay Richardson and Kevin Alexander will serve as Langley’s pro lacrosse team’s bench staff, while Dave Evans and Kaleb Toth will serve as off-floor assistants.

Milligan and Alexander will work with the offence, while Richardson remains with the defence.

Milligan has more than a decade of coaching experience in the NLL and has previously worked for six other NLL franchises throughout his career.

He started as an advanced scout for the Rochester Knighthawks (2003 to 2005) and worked three years as assistant coach for the Edmonton Rush (2005 to 2007). Milligan also served as an assistant coach with both the Chicago Shamrox (2008), Toronto Rock (2009), and spent four seasons with the Philadelphia wings (2011 to 2014) as the team’s offensive coordinator. Most recently, he was with the New England Black Wolves in an offensive coordinator role in 2015.

In his Major Series Lacrosse (MSL) coaching career, Milligan joined the Peterborough Lakers coaching staff with Batley in ’04 and remained in the organization for 10 seasons as offensive coordinator.

From 2011 to ’14 he added assistant general manager to his role.

In his time with the Lakers, Milligan won five Mann Cups and six Major Series Lacrosse championships.

“I have known Jim for quite a while and has been at my side at both the NLL and MSL level, and has done a great job,” Batley said. “He has a great mind for the game and is a guy that I have total trust in to make the offense operate smoothly. I really like the make-up of our staff and look forward to working alongside Jim, Clay, Kevin, Dave, and Kaleb.”

The Stealth host the Saskatchewan Rush tonight (Saturday, March 19) at the Langley Events Centre starting at 7 p.m.

It is “Lacrosse On the Move” night, with the first 1,000 fans through the door receiving a free pack of Stealth player cards.
