Former Roughneck heading to Langley to play for Vancouver Stealth
Newly acquired Peter McFetridge is a 10-year NLL veteran who, Stealth coach Jamie Batley said, has a lot to offer to the team.
The Vancouver Stealth are pleased to announce the signing of free agent Peter McFetridge to a one-year deal pending league approval.
McFetridge has spent the first nine years of his career in Calgary where he appeared in 117 games scoring 24 goals and 40 assists for 64 points.
“Signing with the Stealth is an exciting opportunity to play in front of family and friends,” said McFetridge. “I am very familiar with this team and am looking forward to playing with my new teammates and being on the right side of the passionate fans inside the Langley Events Centre.”
The Vancouver native currently plays in the Western Lacrosse Association (WLA) with the Burnaby Lakers and previous to that with the New Westminster Salmonbellies. In 174 games he scored 67 goals and 77 assists for 144 points.
Stealth head coach Jamie Batley believes that heading into his 10th season McFetridge has a lot to offer the team, “Peter has a lot of experience in both leagues and has won Champion’s and Minto Cups. He is a top tier defenseman and we are glad to add him to our back end. He brings strong transition skills that should help us generate more goals from our back end this season.”
The 2017 Vancouver Stealth season will kick off at the Langley Events Centre in January 2017.
