Steel Cage set for ECCW show in Abbotsford

Wrestling action returns to Air Cadet Building on Saturday night

Elite Canadian Championship Wrestling returns to Abbotsford on Saturday, and they’re bringing the fabled steel cage for the main event of the evening.

“The Great Bambino” Tony Baroni challenges ECCW Canadian heavyweight champion Andy “The Dreadful” Bird in the featured bout of the event, with the competitors settling their issues locked inside a steel cage inside the Abbotsford Cadet Building at Exhibition Park.

In other action, local talent will be on display when the Abbotsford duo of Danni Deeds and Todd Quality take on Scotty Mac and Christina Von Eerie in a tag team match.

At the last ECCW show in Abbotsford back in February, Deeds defeated Mac to win the Abbotsford Special Adventurers title.

A grudge match features females batting it out, as the team of ECCW champion Nicole Matthews and Cat Power take on Bambi and Liiza Hall.

Former champion Bishop also squares off with “Easy Rider” Nick Pesky in a singles bout.

The show also features the debut of four new competitors as the team of Erik Strange and Travis Williams takes on Shareef Morrow and Jacky Lee in a Proving Ground match.

Doors open for the event at 7 p.m., with bell time for the show at 7:30 p.m.

Tickets are $17 for front row, $15 for general admission and $12 for kids.
