Stellar start for Stead at B.C. Amateurs

Vernon's Brady Stead tied for second after Day 1 of B.C. Amateur Men's Golf Championships in Invermere.

Vernon’s Brady Stead is off to a scorching start at the B.C. Amateur Men’s Golf Championships, co-hosted by the Springs at Radium Hot Springs and the Copper Point Golf Club in Invermere.

Stead was in a four-way tie for second place after shooting a 5-under 67 on Tuesday’s opening round. He was one stroke back of leader Kevin Kwon of Maple Ridge.

Coldstream’s Chris McEachran-Law shot even-par 70 to sit 24th after one round, while Vernon’s Conner Kozak was in 54th place after carding a 3-over 75, and Matt McEachran-Law was 81st for his 5-over 75.
