Steve Nash Youth Basketball is hitting the court for its fifth season in Vernon.
The camp is a Basketball B.C. initiative that assists local coaches and volunteers in developing basketball skills for youth in the community.
Beginning with just a handful of coaches and participants five years ago, the program in Vernon has grown quickly to an organization with more than 30 coaches and 300 participants.
The clinics, taught in local elementary school gyms, offer fundamentals and skills of basketball in a structured and fun environment.
As a non-profit organization, all camp staff and administration are volunteers, which makes for affordable registration costs. Included in the $100 fee are insurance, Basketball B.C. membership, Steve Nash reversible youth jersey, basketball, Gatorade squeeze bottle, medal and prizes.
The 10-week session begins the week of Sept. 16, with Grades K-8 athletes meeting Friday nights (5:30-7). Grades 6-8 have a second day of training each week, on Tuesday or Thursday nights.

Registration opens early September. To register online, visit snyb.ca/vernon.
