The Alberni Golf Course’s ladies league members found themselves competing under different conditions on Tuesday, Aug. 2—much different than the sun we are accustomed to.

Instead of trying to get out of the sun we were dodging rain drops and hoping the clap of thunder we heard was going to be the only one.

In the low handicap nine-hole group Claudia Romaniuk won low gross, Doreen Grant won low net and there was a tie for low putts between Claudia Romaniuk and Marie Swain.

In the high handicap group Betty Adair won low gross, Pat Dahlquist won low net and there was another tie for low putts between Pat Dahlquist and Bea Stuyt.

Pars were had by Doreen Grant on No. 2, Lauralee Edgell No. 2, Lee Anne Van Lent No. 6 and Kathy Stolth on No. 9.

In the 18-hole ladies group, Patsy Gauthier won the monthly medal with a net of 70. Janice Cross won low gross with an 84, Gayle Rhodes won low net with a 65.

In the ball sweep Shirley Goodman won KP on No. 5 and Carol Hastings won on No. 12.  The special prize went to Barb Sheare.
