Stretch for mobility

Stretching for Mobility classes are designed to help keep you flexible and mobile as you move into the aging years.

It is very important to keep active but sometimes it is hard to do it on your own. Gisela Ko offers gentle exercise classes designed to use a chair for support.

Classes are held on Tuesday afternoons from 1 to 2 p.m. and Friday mornings from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. Gisela offers classes at the Christina Lake Community Hall on Wednesday afternoons from 1 to 2 p.m.

Pool closed two days

The aquatic centre will be closed on Good Friday, April 3 and Easter Monday, April 6. Easter Bunny will be hopping around the pool and participating in the games and activities between 1:30 and 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 4. Easter Bunny Swim will take place from 1 to 3 p.m. but the pool will be open for a Toonie swim from 1 to 5 p.m. Easter Sunday, the pool will be open from 1 to 5 p.m.

 

Just try Tri It

Triathlons give you an opportunity to experience three different sports in one event. Kids can learn the proper road bike safety, learn running tips to increase their endurance and learn a proper swim training program to help complete a triathlon. Just Tri It Kid’s Triathlon training start with the biking session on Friday, April 17 from 1:15 to 2:15 p.m, Friday, running session on Friday, April 24 from 11:15 to 12:15 p.m. and the swim lesson on Friday, May 8 from 11:15 to 12:15 p.m.

Registration fee includes free registration for the mini triathlon on Tuesday, May 12. Once your child has completed this program, they will be ready for the big event, the Pharmasave Christina Lake Triathlon. It all for fun and keep kids healthy and active.

 

Piranhas offers master swim program

Piranhas Swim Club will be offering a master swim program this year with professional coaching and expert stroke correction, please contact piranhasprez@gmail.com to register or for more information about master swim program. This is an excellent program to help with your triathlon training program.

 

What’s Pickle Ball?

Pickle ball, you say, “What is Pickle Ball?” It is a fast-growing sport with seniors in mind. It is a modified tennis game with a slower ball and paddle with lower nets.

The Grand Forks Pickle ball group will be meeting at the Barbara Ann Tennis courts on Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 5 p.m. starting April 1. You can contact Bonnie at 250-442-6365 for more information.
