The roster shuffling for the Chilliwack Chiefs continues as head coach/GM Jason Tatarnic tries to bring his team back from a horrid start to the BCHL season.
The Chiefs announced two trades Wednesday.
In the first deal, Tatarnic picked up 18 year old forward Regan Kimens from the Langley Rivermen in exchange for future considerations.
The Ontario native was a teammate of Chilliwack forward Corey Andonovski at St. Andrews College last year, where he scored 25 goals and 59 points in 60 games.
He didn’t hit the scoresheet in six games with Langley.
In a corresponding move the Chiefs shipped struggling forward Bobby Young to the Alberta Junior Hockey League’s Bonnyville Pontiacs in return for 19 year old defenceman Jake Gresh. The Connecticut native had eight goals and 23 points in 48 games for Bonneyville last season and is committed to the University of Alaska-Fairbanks for 2018-19.
Both newcomers are expected to be in the Chiefs lineup this weekend.
