Vancouver Island University basketball camps still have some space for young players this summer.

Coach Matt Kuzminski reports that they still have space in their Shooting and Perimeter Player Development camp (July 28-31) and their general camp for boys (Aug. 18-22).

The shooting camp runs 9 a.m. to noon for boys age 13-18, while their are two general camps for boys, one for ages 10-13 in the morning and age 14-18 afternoons.

“Players will learn new skills and fundamentals taught by VIU coaches and players,” Kuzminski said in a news release. “There will be many competitions for a variety of prizes. The camps provide the VIU men’s basketball program an opportunity to get an early look at local talent. Currently five players on the men’s basketball roster have come through the VIU summer camps.”

Registration can be done online at mariners.viu.ca or at the first day of camp with cash.
