Summerland Ladies Club

On May 4, the Summerland Golf and Country Ladies Club counted Low Gross/Low Net scores. The scores are the baseline scores for the ringer board, which is a season-long contest in which one can improve the scores on each hole as the year progresses.

First flight: First low gross (tie) Vijai Vaagen and Helen Pybus, 92; first low net Pat Gartrell, 73; Second low net Val Eibner, 78.

Second flight: First low gross Marie Gallant, 101; second low gross Barb Oleschuk, 103; first low net Angie Brock, 77; second low net Diana Leitch, 78.

Summerland Senior Men

On May 6, the Summerland Senior Men’s Club played a Waltz Time event, counting one net score on the first hole, two on the second and three on the third, hence one, two, three.

The winning team with 88 points were Bruce Hammond, Alf Vaagen, Jerry Sauve and Dave Cain. Second by countback with 84 points were Bob Fortune, Joe Beggs, Art Flett and Herb Williams. Third with 84 points were Glen Brennan, Bob Dickeson, Murray Sadler and Glen Steinke. Fourth, also by countback with 82 points were Garth Humphreys, Nick Coe, Ted Gamracy and Eric Johnson.

Seven players shared the deuce pot with Alf Vaagen scoring two.
