The Okanagan Sun has secured the commitment of Dylan Craddock, an offensive lineman from Hugh Boyd Secondary in Richmond.
The 19-year-old Craddock, who played midget football in White Rock last year, will attend Okanagan College through the club’s scholarship program.
The 6-foot-3, 285-pound Craddock says he has always followed the Sun and decided the Okanagan was where he wanted to be after attending an indoor practice with the team earlier this year.
Sun head coach Shane Beatty say’s Craddock is “exactly” the type of player the offensive line is looking for this season.
“He’s a versatile player, he has the ability to play guard or tackle,” said Beatty. “Everything we know about him…he has the head for the game so he is the type of player who will get better every day.
“He’s physical, the kind of player who will work hard and do the dirty work on the field…what you look for in an offensive lineman. He’s excited to be part of the Okanagan Sun and I think he has an excellent opportunity to compete for a starting position.”
Craddock and the rest of rookie and returning players hit the field for the club’s spring camp at the Apple Bowl Parkinson fields May 11and 12.
