Two members of the Delta Sungod Swim Club achieved qualifying times at the Lower Mainland Regional Meet in Richmond recently, and will compete at the Provincial AA Championships in June.
Amrit Sandhu, 14, and Caralyn Vossen, 15, will swim at the provincial meet at the Saanich Commonwealth Pool in Victoria.
Vossen won gold in her 100m breast stroke race and was fourth in the 50m and 200m breast srtroke. Sandhu was fourth in the 100m freestyle, fifth in the 100m backstroke and sixth in the 50m and 200m freestyle races.
Other medalists for the Sungod club were: Claudia Baxter, 12, (gold in 200m individual medley, silver in 200m back stroke and bronze in 800m freestyle; Cory Bullock, 12, (gold in 400m individual medley, 50m butterfly, silver in 50m free style, bronze in 200 individual medley and 100m breast stroke), Jaya Castillo, 15, (silver in 50m freestyle), April Cunningham, 15, (silver in 50m back stroke); Noah Landry, 13, (gold in 1,500m free style, bronze in 100m back stroke); Reece Landry, 10, (gold in 200m 400m, and 1,500m freestyle, silver in 50m back stroke); Maddison Lupien, 13 (gold in 200m butterfly); Hailey Penner, 10 (gold in 200m butterfly, silver in 100m freestyle, and bronze in 100m butterfly and 800m freestyle); Young Ye, 12, (silver in 200m back stroke).
