Sunterra ladies brush off Chick Kickers 3-1

The OTC/Sunterra Custom Homes Sistas brushed back the Chick KickersOMG 3-1 in North Okanagan Women’s Soccer Association Division 2 play Thursday at Marshall Field #2.

Andy Zubot opened the scoring for the Sistas (4-1), from Deanna Baker and Lesley Williams.

Dianne Neudorf sniped the winner from Zubot, and Miranda Dalhuisen added insurance, from Neudorf and Baker.

The Chick Kickers dipped to 0-6.

Fisher seals is late

The Do-Itt Drywall Mud Sharks scored a last second goal to slip past the Centreline Attack 2-1 at Marshall #5.

Shelby Fisher tied it for the Attack (0-6) with 10 minutes remaining.

Shaylan Zecchel corralled a rebound with mere seconds  left and banged home the winner.

Hailey Noakes scored the first goal for the Mud Sharks (6-0).

Sue Chadwick played excellent on defence and Megan Mackus had great challenges down the field for Centreline.

Ross pockets winner for Stars

Rob Ross converted a gorgeous feed from John Mateijcka as the Silver Stars shaded the Kelowna Kickers 2-1 in Okanagan Valley Men’s 50+ Soccer League play Thursday night at Marshall Field #3.

Mahmoud Abdel-Kader earlier connected on a penalty kick for the Stars (5-0-1). Ross took the Burger King Man of the Match.

Vernon Kal Tire shut down Westside Selects 1-0 at Marshall #1 with Pete (The Heat) recording the clean sheet.

Gary Dill scored on a header in the 23rd minute, finishing a sweet cross from the end line by Terry Lowe, who had taken a pass from Kenny Rath.

Central midfielder Jim Sparrow ran a marathon and earned the Save-On-Foods Pharmacy Man of the Match. Outside defner Grant Badgero was highly aggressive on 50-50 balls and took honourable mention. The Tiremen are 3-2-1.
