Super League

The fight for first heats up in the final weeks of the regular season.

The Super League curlers were still fighting for points on Wednesday, hoping for that rock that will curl them around their opponents and into the finals.

A&W and JAR faced off, with A&W coming back from a single point defect to take the game 11-5.

JAR Transportation had all 18 wheels running early. Up 5-4 at the halfway point, they stopped for lunch and had a bucket of Chubby Chicken, which was too much for the transmission to handle and they couldn’t get back in gear. A&W stole four in the fifth and three more in the sixth.

Willis Harper took an easy win off Frank’s, 7-0.

Karin took down Ski–Hi, 8-3.

It was a game of steals for Karins, through to the end.

CDC found its pace, beating the Investors Group, 7-2.

Learning from the woes of last week’s weak finish, CDC paced itself and capitalized on opportunities. Investors struggled with the ice, leaving CDC in a tie for first place.

Billy Barker beat Douglas Lake Equipment 7-2.

In the feature game, the Billy Barker Boys forced the backhoe boys to fold in the final end, as the ‘river’ buries them in chips.

Stay tuned next week for the final push of the regular season before the excitement ramps up for the playoffs.
