Synchronized in Saanich

Saanich Commonwealth Place is the hub of synchronized swimming in Canada this week.

The country’s best athletes aged 16 to 18 years old are in Saanich for Synchro Canada’s 2012 Canadian Open Championships, May 2 to 6.

A total of 268 swimmers, drawing from 150 clubs, are seeking berths on Synchro Canada’s 2012 Junior National Team, which is scheduled to compete at the World Junior Championships in Greece this September.

The top-16 will advance to a selection camp in June held at the Centre of Excellence in Montreal.
