Talented trio finish skate season in style

Three of the Comox Valley’s top skaters put a nice finishing touch on the 2015-2016 season by picking up two bronze medals and a personal best at the BC/Yukon Super Series Victoria Day competition in Surrey.

Emma Cullen won the bronze medal in Juvenile U14. Jane Schaffhauser, competing in her last event at the Novice level, put together back to back strong performances and improved on her personal best score by 10 points.

Peyton Meiers, who will be graduating, put on a good show in what could be her last skating competition, picking up the bronze medal in the Gold Women’s category.

“These were especially good performances for the three girls who only a day before the start of the competition had put in a big day of skating tests,” said Comox Valley Skating Club coach Greg Ladret.

“Peyton was attempting the first of her Diamond level dances, Emma was completing her Gold level Skating Skills, and Jane was completing both her Gold Skills and Gold Freeskate.”
