The Terrace Badminton Club sent one youth representative to the 2015 North Central Badminton Tournament in Prince George recently.
The only youth player from Terrace, Lisa Nicholson came home with top honours for the single’s category, which included both female and male players and placed second for the mixed youth doubles.
The annual tournament sees adult and youth players from across the north gather in Prince George for the final badminton tournament of the year.
It showcases amazing skill level from northern B.C. players and encourages younger players to continue developing a love for the sport.
The tournament was a great opportunity for Nicholson to use skills developed over the past season, with coaching and guidance provided by Norm Parry and Herb Resch.
Terrace has popular youth and adult clubs that meet throughout the week, in the evenings, at Thornhill Junior School, from October to April, with the season wrapping up now.
Badminton is a great sport that builds on hand – eye coordination, along with speed and endurance. All skill levels are welcome to join the clubs.
