Terrace Bantam Female Reps head to semi-finals

Terrace reps fall 3-1 to the North Shore Winter Club but head into semi-finals today

In what tournament directors are calling the finest game of the championships so far, the Terrace Bantam Female reps fell 3-1 to the North Shore Winter Club yesterday at provincials in Vernon.

The North Shore team has been the team Terrace has strived to beat this year – a fastskating, composed team who cycle the puck and execute passes well in addition to great accelleration from end to end. But Terrace is also a finese club with lots of talented players. And the matchup made for an exciting, entertaining game for fans in the stands.

Both goalies had a great game, making key saves to keep the score close. At 14:52 of the first period Caitlyn Ray of Terrace scored from Taylor Beck. Tianna Lopes of North Shore tied it up at 2:21 from Devon Wood and Maegan Beres. At 4:48 of the second period North Shore took the lead when Leona Sim scored from Mika Embury. North Shore added to their lead at 16:52 of the third period as Mika Embury scored her second of the game unassisted. There was a lot of action in this game at both ends of the arena. It was a very entertaining and skilled game. Penalty minutes were two minutes each.

Despite the loss, Terrace still gets a spot in the semi-finals later today against Tri-Cities, who are tied for first with Juan de Fuca in the tournament.
