Lord Stanley’s Cup made its way to the Abbotsford Recreation Centre on Tuesday, Aug. 4, courtesy of Stanley Cup champion, Kyle Cumiskey.
The Abbotsford native greeted, posed for photos and signed autographs for the hundreds of fans who arrived — young and old — to see the Chicago Blackhawks defenceman and the legendary trophy.
One fan, Chris Crowell, said he and his family drove out from Langley just to catch a glimpse and photo of the Stanley Cup.
He and his kids donned their red Blackhawks jerseys and were one of many who posed for a quick photo with Cumiskey, though the half-hour time slot was not nearly enough to get through the long line of hockey fans that trailed around the ice rink’s dry floor.
Cumiskey became a Stanley Cup Champion when Chicago downed the Tampa Bay Lightning in six games last June, in this year’s NHL finals.
