The Comox Valley Therapeutic Riding Society congratulates their head instructor, Teg Harper, as the recipient of the 2015 International Coach of the Year, from the International Society of Rider Biomechanics.
At a recent international symposium held in Lexington, Kentucky, among a field of 55 international coaches, Harper was chosen for this prestigious award. She was the only Canadian in the running and the only instructor also affiliated with a therapeutic riding centre.
“While Teg does do her own private coaching, with biomechanics as one of her passions, this specialty helps to serve those at CVTRS by providing a knowledgeable and in-depth understanding of rider positioning for optimal physical and mental therapy; as well as communication between horse and rider in a harmonious relationship” according to Nancy King, executive director, CVTRS. “Our staff carry and maintain all kinds of certifications and on-going professional development. We’re thrilled to be able to continue to offer to our riders, that come from as far away as Gold River to the north and Nanaimo to the south, this quality of instruction and support that ultimately helps improve the riders quality of life.”
