The Salmon Arm SilverBacks have signed Vernon forward Colton Thibault for the next B.C. Hockey League seaspn.
The 6-foot-2, 185-pound right winer racked up 16 goals and 42 points in 49 regular-season games with the the KIJHL North Okanagan Knights last season. Thibault added 10 goals and 14 points in 20 playoff games, helping the Knights reach the KIJHL finals against the Castlegar Rebels. Thibault has already appeared in eight BCHL games as an AP and has scored at every level. He is a highly physical and disciplined player. ‘Backs GM Troy Mick is excited to add the 18-year-old to a strong core of returning forwards. “We have kept a keen eye on Colton this past season and more importantly in the playoffs,” said Mick. “His play down the stretch and in the KIJHL playoffs was nothing short of fantastic. Colton exemplifies the type of player we are looking for; scorers who elevate their game in the playoffs are a rare find. We will be counting on Colton to score some import goals for us next year.”
Thibault joins Vernon products Alex Gillies, Harlan Orr and Alex Jewell with the SilverBacks.
