Following an injury to start the month of February, Brad Thiessen made up for lost time when he returned to the Wilkes-Barre Scranton Penguins line-up.
Thiessen, 24, was named the American Hockey League’s goaltender of the month for February after an impressive run saw him go 8-2 while allowing just a dozen goals for Wilkes-Barre Scanton, the top minor league team of the Pittsburgh Penguins.
The Aldergrove goaltender finished the month with a tidy 1.28 goals against average and a .943 save percentage. He also posted three shutouts. Thiessen leads the AHL with 26 wins and a 1.90 GAA.
The Penguins will be in Abbotsford to play the Heat next weekend (March 11 and 12).
