Three-way tie for top spot in CVMS Tier 1

Devils, Brewers, Dawgs all sport 4-1 records in mixed slo-pitch play

 

 

 

There is a three-way tie for first place in Tier 1 after last week’s Comox Valley Mixed Slopitch action.

Speedy Glass Auto Devils outscored the Renegades 18-13 but fell to Ducks Gone Wild 7-4. Banner Landscaping Brewers beat the Ramrods 12-7 and hammered previously unbeaten Lucky Dawgs 14-5.

The Dawgs trounced the winless Mission Possible Shockers 19-8.  The Renegades got their first win of the season, nipping the Sunlife Slammers 6-5. The Ducks also outlasted the Slammers 19-18.

In Tier 2, in a battle of the unbeatens, Average Joes were 7-4 winners over Loose Cannons in a well-played game. Alan Dack had three RBIs for the Joes. Sauced turned three double plays as they won easily 17-5 over Billy D’s Benchwarmers. Peanut Gallery collected their first win with 18-12 over the winless Calm Batters.

In Tier 3, the Wrecks knocked off Komox Grind 14-8 and handed the Griffin Ball Busters their first defeat, 9-3. The Griffin also played to a 12-12 draw with The Contenders.

The Malfunctions won a pair of games, climbing into contention, beating the Zombies 11-7 and downing the C.V. Marine Misfits 15-8. The Rats dropped both of their games to remain winless falling 19-8 to the Misfits and 17-11 at the hands of the Zombies. One other Tier 3 game saw the Grind clip the Contenders 8-3.

In Tier 4, Walker’s Optional took down the Tee Box Ballers 10-3 while the Pacers were 8-5 winners over the TULS. Both the Pacers and Walker’s remain in a tie for first. The Slippery Kittens fell 11-8 to Weavers Leather EZ Ryders while the Avengers beat the winless Coco Loco’s 12-5.
