Tigers lock up second place

The Vernon Re/Max Tigers will host the Armstrong Shamrocks in Game 1 of their first-round playoff series.

The Vernon Re/Max Tigers locked up second place by upsetting the Kamloops Venom 12-9 and tying the South Okanagan Flames 13-13 in weekend action.

Game 1 in the best-of-five Thompson Okanagan Junior Lacrosse League semifinal series goes Wednesday, July 4 at Wesbild Centre between the Tigers and third-place Armstrong Shamrocks.

The Tigers, who built up a 5-0 early lead and hung on to deal Kamloops their first loss of the season Saturday night at Wesbild. It was Vernon’s sixth win in a row. They tied the last-place Flames Sunday in Penticton. The Tigers finished at 8-5-2.
