In North Okanagan Women’s Soccer Association play, the June 26 game was a hard-fought affair with Setters pressing early, keeping Ted United in their end.
Ted United opened the scoring from the top of the 18-yard box by Tricia Martin. Setters rallied and scored the next two goals. Shannon Hecker scored first and then Danielle Dubois on a break away.
Ted regrouped after a half-time motivational speech by Coach Alan Oates. Kyla Sherman scored at the beginning of the second half to even the score. Ted United struck again on a Sue Doray cross that was tapped in by Emily Styles. Then a goal-post bounce turned favourable for Ted United, with Shelinda Morin putting it into the net. Setters’ Shannon Hecker scored another goal and then Ted United’s Cathy Bartsch scored a header for a 5-3 win.
