The 10-man North Enderby Timber ambushed the nine-man Peters Tirecraft 7-0 in North Okanagan Soccer League play Sunday night at the Greater Vernon Athletic Park.
Joe Binns opened the scoring on a nifty move around a defender and burying it shortside on the cheating Tirecraft keeper. Binns added an assist minutes later, cutting a low cross into Gabriel Price who tapped in the cross.
Price added further insurance on a sweet back-heel flick off of an Andy Stein cross. Stein added a goal of his own in the second half by heading in a Menno Burnet long ball.
Burnet then scored the goal of the night on a 30-yard outswinging cannon that went bar down determined to be in by using goal-line technology.
Brodie Couch added a late tally, finishing off a breakaway after being sent in by birthday boy Brent Poulsen.
Poulsen finished the scoring after being stymied all night, hitting three posts and being denied point blank by the keeper. NET is 6-1, Tirecraft 2-5.
Bret Korberg scored twice as Monashee Surveying FC upended Turn-Key Controls 4-2 in NOSL play Sunday night at MacDonald Park.
Korberg, who was chosen the Burger King Man of the Match, went bar down for one of his tallies. Isaiah Wenger and Chris Swinburn added breakaway goals as Monashee improved to 7-1. Turn-Key dipped to 2-4.
Tree Brewing FC of Lake Country bounced Vernon Kal Tire 2-1 in Kelowna Tree Brewing Men’s 35+ Soccer League play Thursday night at Marshall Field. Ryan Sharp started the scoring early for Kal Tire with a low corker that burned through the Lake Country keeper.
Kal Tire had more chances in the half but couldn’t finish. The Brewers answered with a rifle shot that keeper Bobby Zalcik got a piece of before it hit the netting.
Play went back and forth for a while before Tree Brewing got the winner when a cross that seemed to be outside the lines was headed back and then in the net. Tree Brewing improved to 5-1, while the Tiremen dipped to 1-3-2.

The Sunterra Custom Homes Sista’s shut out Collaborate Wellness 3-0 in Division 2 women’s play Thursday night. Kris Fuller allowed the first two goals, one a breakaway by Andrea Zubot.
