Time to Lap the Lake on April 30

Fundraiser for 100 Mile District Hospice Palliative Care Society

The Fourth Annual Lap the Lakes includes a 10-kilometre run and a five-km walk around the Lakes and is happening on April 30 starting at 9 a.m.

The event is at the 108 Mile Ranch Heritage Site and participants will be going around the 108 Mile Lake Trail.

Organizers Murray Helmer and Donri Heise encourage people to come out early to register if they haven’t picked up their forms at Action Fitness located in Cariboo Mall on Highway 97.

“We are holding this event to raise funds for the 100 Mile District Hospice Palliative Care Society,” Helmer says, adding race T-shirts will be available.

“We want people to come out and enjoy themselves, enjoy the lake and participate in the run.”

If requested, organizers will time the racers, but Helmer says the event is open to runners and walkers of all fitness levels.

The entry fee is $20 and water and snacks will be provided to all participants. Instead of having prizes for the fastest, Helmer says all entrants’ names will be drawn for various prizes.
