Tip-off time for Friday Night Hoops

Graduates of Brookswood basketball program have won 14 provincial titles in past 17 years

Friday Night Hoops is ready to kick off its fall season.

Beginning Sept. 30, girls in Grades 2 to 7 will hit the hard court at Brookswood Secondary.

The sessions are designed to help kids learn skills, have fun and be competitive.

Grades 2 to 5 will be one group while some advanced Grade 5 players can move up to the Grade 6/7 level and the weekly sessions run from 5 to 6:30 p.m. They run each week (except Oct. 7) until Nov. 4.

Christina Brown and Chris Veale will serve as head instructors with Neil Brown also assisting.

Current members of the Brookswood Bobcats girls program will also assist in coaching.

Graduates of the FNH program have won 14 provincial championships in the past 17 years, including three consecutive B.C. senior girls 3A titles.

Cost of the camp is $60 and includes a T-shirt, 60 minutes of instruction and 30 minutes of game time. Players are asked to bring their own basketball.

Cheques should be made to Brookswood Secondary and can be dropped off at Brookswood Secondary
