’Tips struggle to find rhythm

The Salmon Arm Co-op Silvertips Female Midget hockey team held their home tournament in Sicamous, a week ago.

The girls had a rough weekend starting off with a 3-0 loss to Abbotsford.

The Most Valuable Player was presented to forward Chelsea Marshall for her hard work. Acknowledgement was also given to  Makenna Howe on defence and to the Silvertips’ goaltender Jordan Brunette.

On Saturday, the girls started with a 5-0 loss to North Island. The MVP went to forward  Carly Southam and special acknowledgement to centre Cassidy Marshall  and netminder Taylor Thomlinson, who battled 28 shots compared to North Island’s 16.

The girls lost 4-0 to the strong Strathcona team, Saturday night. Goaltender Jordan Brunette battled 41 shots on net while standing on her head for her team. Salmon Arm managed to put 10 shots on Strathcona’s goalie. The game MVP was awarded to Haylee Gosselin with special acknowledgement to defender Makenna Southam and Brunette.

The girls had their best game of the weekend with a 4-2 loss to Abbotsford, Sunday.

The MVP was given to forward  Tareyn Hanson, with special acknowledgement to Ava Wutke and to the hardworking Thomlinson in net.
