TOFC U16s golden in Kamloops

Thompson Okanagan Football Club takes Slurpee Cup U17 title

The Thompson Okanagan Football Club U16 girls struck gold in the U17 division at the 2013 edition of the Slurpee Cup soccer tournament.

TOFC went 3-0 in pool play last weekend in Kamloops, then defeated the Penticton Pinnacles 1-0 in Sunday’s final.

TOFC also scored wins over Vernon (2-0), Quesnel (3-1) and Comox (3-0)

The TOFC U16 girls are: Jontaya Mayer, Emily Miller, Rachel McMillan, Stephanie McCann, Becca Kletke, Ella Weir, Nikki Manwaring, Hailey Tomlin, Joella Koblischke, Jenny Matheson, Julia Bower, Moraya Harrison, Erin Graham, Jaedyn Penkala and  Ange-Aimee Quesnel, The coaches are Gary Graham and Todd Penkala.

Bronze for U13

Playing up in the U14 tier 1 division of the Slurpee Cup, the TOFC U13 girls battled to a third-place finish.

In their final game against a team from Calgary, the TOFC girls were strong, maintaining possession and constant pressure, however they could not convert on several chances. The game ended in a 0-0 draw.

In other games, TOFC tied Kamloops 2-2, defeated Prince George 3-1 and lost to Edmonton 4-0.
