Western Canada’s best under-16 skiers are at Apex Mountain Resort to compete in Super G, GS and slalom Can Am event for B.C. Alpine March 12 to 15.  There will be 180 skiers being showcased for future Canadian World Cup and Olympic teams. The Apex Ski Club has six members competing in Marcus Athans, Kyle Blaser, Parker Sinclair, Tyra Henderson, Molly Wells and Mini Gentes. ASC coach Jorgen Anderson has high hopes for the boys, while he would like to see the girls gain valuable experience.

“It’s the premiere event of the season,” said Anderson.

The hope is for Athans to finish in the top 20, Blaser top 40 and Parker in the top 60. However, Anderson isn’t concerned about that.

“I don’t care about the numbers,” he said. “I want them to come out of this with a positive experience, same thing with the girls.”

Spectators are welcome to watch the races which are expected to start at 8:45 a.m. and finish mid afternoon.
