Three Surrey Eagles are among eight B.C. Hockey League players named to the 2012 National Hockey League Draft’s watch list – a report that identifies top pro prospects and ranks them according to scouts at NHL’s Central Scouting Bureau.
Listed among the hundreds of prospects for the NHL’s 2012 Entry Draft are Surrey forwards Brandon Morley and Sean McGovern, and first-year defenceman Devon Toews, an Abbotsford native.
Morley, in his second year in the BCHL, is currently among the Eagles’ top scorers with six goals and 16 points in 16 games, while McGovern, an Ontario native who played prep hockey in the U.S. last season, has eight points in 25 games this year.
Toews has eight points this season, his first in the BCHL.
The NHL draft is set for Pittsburgh, June 22-23.
