Trio of teams still unbeaten at Scotties

Defending champion among three tied for first place

Three teams are undefeated after the second draw of the BC Scotties women’s curling championship at the Cloverdale Curling Club.

Three-time defending champion Kelly Scott of Kelowna ran their record to 2-0 (won-lost) with a 6-3 win over Marilou Richter (0-2) of the Royal City Curling Club in New Westminster.

Patti Knezevic (2-0) of Prince George allowed Royal City’s Kirsten Fox (1-1) to steal one in the 10th end, but then scored two herself in the extra end for an 8-6 win.

Alison MacInnes of Abbotsford ran her record to 2-0 by overcoming a 5-2 deficit after four ends to edge Cloverdale’s Marla Mallett 9-8.

Simone Brosseau (1-1) of the Juan de Fuca Curling Club scored five in the eighth end, then shook hands with Simone Groundwater (0-2) of Williams Lake in a 9-3 win.

Roberta Kuhn of Vernon (1-1) built up a 6-1 lead after seven ends and hung on for a 6-3 win over Lori Olsen (0-2) of Royal City.

Draw 3 goes at 11 a.m. this morning (Tuesda).
