Turn-Key Controls are making a serious run at running the table in the North Okanagan Soccer League.

The Controllers (7-0) opened the second round of play Wednesday night by shutting down Peters Tirecraft 2-0 at MacDonald Park.

Tirecraft, who fell 6-0 to Turn-Key in Game 1 of the year, were much more organized and stingy at the back line. The few attempts that got through were cleaned up by Tirecraft keeper Peter (Kaz) Kouzouloglou.

Right before the half, Conan Ackert fed Oben Tabe alone inside the 18 and he put it bottom corner. Tabe played his best game of the season to take the Total Restoration Man of the Match.

Reid Foerster, playing from the back line, scored the second goal. In an attempt to cross to Nick MacDonald at the penalty spot, both he and Kouzouloglou both missed the ball and it bounced into the empty net.

The second-place North Enderby Timber grounded Monashee Surveyors FC 5-0 at the Greater Vernon Athletics Park.

The Timber (6-1-1) created numerous chances before converting 16 minutes in on a Finlay McPhie breakaway.

Libra Love Boutique Man of the Match McPhie, who plays CIS for the Thompson Rivers WolfPack, started a nifty give-and-go with Patrick Schindler who sent in McPhie.

Just 10 minutes later center back Menno Burnet sent Lucas Ross down the wing. Ross beat a defender and hammered a low hard shot the keeper could only redirect to keeper-turned- striker Victor Gouchee for the tap-in.

As the lights came on, the Timber kept rolling in the 35th minute when fellow WolfPack Mike Bennett connected on a beautiful volley.

The second half saw the Timber playing keep-away with the 2-5 Surveyors. The Timber added a fourth goal in the 65th minute when Schindler sent Brent Poulsen down the wing.

Poulsen beat two defenders in the box and then crossed the ball back to Schindler with a world-class header to the side netting. Poulsen capped the scoring with a late penalty after being mauled by multiple Monashee defenders in the 18. Ean Ross earned the clean sheet.
