Turn-Key Controls upset league-leading Monashee Surveyors 2-1 for their third straight North Okanagan Soccer League win Wednesday at Greater Vernon Athletic Park.

The game was pretty even throughout with both teams having good scoring opportunities. Turn-Key struck first with a cross from John Moesker which created a scramble in the six-yard box. Thomas Pool was able to get a shot away and it deflected off a defender and over the keeper to open the scoring.

Monashee tried to respond but couldn’t get anything past Controls keeper Jordan Vandermeulen, who played his best game of the year, coming off of back-to-back shutouts. Before the half, Monashee had good possession of the ball but were forced to the outsides. A rushing Elias Jepsen was able to cut off a pass and nicely place the ball past the keeper to make it 2-0 for Turn-Key.

After the half the play was back and forth for most of the half. Monashee was able to counter attack after Turn-Key was deep in the attacking zone, to make it 2-1.

Sunday, Brent Wileman scored twice while Mees Geelkerken and Jepsen added singles as Turn-Key blanked Peter’s Tirecraft 4-0.

In Salmon Arm, Nation of Domination blasted the Revelstoke Stallions 6-0.
