The Turn-Key Controls appear serious about returning to the North Okanagan Soccer League’s Gibson Cup.

The Controllers ambushed the Revestoke Stallions 5-0 Wednesday night at Credit Union Savings Park in Salmon Arm.

Turn-Key is first in the seven-team loop at 4-0. They have allowed just three goals.

Turn-Key carried the play early on with some solid possession and were rewarded when a great cross from defender Bryce Paterson found the head of Nolans Pharmasave Man of the Match Evan Moore.

Moore and Preston Tucker carried the play in the center midfield and Tucker outworked the Revelstoke defence at the top of the box and snuck a well placed shot past the keeper for the 2-0 goal.

Moore put the Controllers up by three going into the half with a left-footer from distance.  Revelstoke made a game of things early in the second half carrying the play in the opening 10 minutes before Andrew Pool converted on a great solo effort after taking a feed from the wing by Sunny Gakhal.

Kanwar Pandhar rounded out the scoring for Turn-Key off a late set piece when a Nathan Tucker header couldn’t be contained and the opportunistic Pandhar tapped in the easiest goal he will score all year.

Gregg Douma earned his second Total Restoration Clean Sheet of the season.

The Stallions dropped to 2-2.

Meanwhile, there are 53 teams in the 37th Vernon Oldtimers Soccer Tournament this weekend at Marshall Field and MacDonald Park.

Teams from Edmonton, Calgary, Vancouver and Prince George are entered. The Old Growth FC face Mission, while the Calgary Eagles go up against the Okanagan Kickers  in the 50+ men’s division Saturday at 9 a.m. at MacDonald Park.

Brandt’s Creek of Kelowna go up against Calgary United, while LLFC tangle with Southside in 45+ men’s play at 10:30 a.m. at MacDonald.

The finals in all divisions go Monday at Mac Park and Marshall Field.
