VANCOUVER — Surrey’s Lord Tweedsmuir Panthers are provincial football champions, thanks to the Junior Varsity team’s 17-14 win over Victoria’s Mt. Douglas Rams.

The AAA division final was played at BC Place Stadium on Saturday afternoon (Dec. 3).

The Nick Kawaza-coached team of Grade 9 and 10 players scored the first points of the game and held on as the Rams battled back, making things interesting in the fourth quarter.

But the Panthers prevailed, giving the school its first JV football title at the AAA level.
