Twister gymnasts bag bronze at provincials

Two Chilliwackians placed third at provincials and another qualified for nationals last weekend in Langley.

Chilliwackians Sierra Stobbe and Mikhayla Rosenow collected bronze medals at the Gymnastics BC Provincial Championships, held April 15-18 in Langley.

Stobbe competed in the Junior Olympic (JO) 7 division, which includes gymnasts born between 2004-2007.

She won bronze on the beam and finished ninth all-around.

Rosenow tackled the JO 9 division versus girls born between 2003-2005, winning bronze on the floor and finishing 12th all-around.

Representing Abbotsford’s Twisters Gymnastics Club, Rosenow joined with Marissa Engh and Jordis Kliewer to earn the second place team award.

A third Chilliwackian, Brienna Gasper, competed in the JO 10 division against girls born in 2001-03, finishing eighth all-around.

Gaspar has qualified to represent B.C. at the 2016 Canadian Championships, taking place May 31 to June 5 in Edmonton.
