Campbell River's bantam A Tyees got their offence going in skating to a pair of 5-2 victories

It took a couple periods before the bantam rep Tyees finally awoke offensively.

Trailing the Cowichan Valley Capital’s B squad 2-0 after two periods at home, the Campbell River Booster Juice Bantam A Tyees finally went on the attack in the final period in skating to a 5-2 win.

It was the first of two weekend victories for the hockey team which played a much better road game Sunday in downing the Comox Valley Chiefs by an identical 5-2 score.

The win over the Chiefs moves the Tyees into first place in Island Division 2. Campbell River’s record is five wins, two losses and two ties, with 38 goals for and 23 against.

The Tyees host two games at Rod Brind’Amour arena this weekend.  The first is against Powell River on Saturday at 3:30 p.m.

On  Sunday, Campbell River hosts Port Alberni at the Brindy. Game time is 12:30 p.m.
