Trinity Western alum Nathan George, of Coquitlam, earned a medal in the 400m for the second year in a row at the Canadian Track and Field Championships, taking silver this past weekend in 46.57.
George, who finished his five-year Spartan career last spring, came home with a second place finish a year after winning gold at last year’s national meet.
While George was the Spartans top finisher this past weekend, the Spartans had several impressive results from both alumni and current TWU athletes.
James Linde continued to show his speed with a fourth-place finish in the 200m with a wind-aided time of 20.64. He also finished 10th in the 100m in 10.45.
Former men’s basketball player Tyrell Mara, of South Surrey, earned a bronze medal in discus with a throw of 53.10m.
The Spartans Denzel Brown, of Port Coquitlam, finished fourth in both U20 long and triple jump competitions, with leaps of 6.94m and 14.39m.
On the women’s side, Regan Yee, of South Hazelton, finished sixth in a deep 1500m field, with a time of 4:15.73.
